Max Brenner

I love eating. When I get the chance (meaning when I have money) I love trying new places with different cuisines just for the experience. Sometimes for the food, sometimes for the scenery. I am hoping to make posts about places that I've been to (not just restaurants). I don't like giving ratings because every restaurant is different. They all have a different quality of food for different prices. They have good days and bad days. I just want to show people the places mostly in New York that they can choose from because New York has a lot to offer.

Max Brenner
Chocolate. Period. That's it. Any fan of chocolate should go and try Max Brenner someday. It is a restaurant almost completely devoted to chocolate. Of course they have food but it is the chocolate you go there for. There is not only food to sit down and eat but souvenirs at the front of the store where you can see pots of chocolate or a large variety of chocolate packaged up to buy. I think the fondue pots they sell here are adorable.
The Menu:
Listen to the menu, First Food Then Chocolate. It is a lot of sugar so it's best to eat something savory beforehand. I have never actually had food at Max Brenner as I usually just go for the desert. I haven't been here much because the food is pricey but the experience is fun. The restaurants is really nice and it is near Union Square so you can go shopping or take a walk around. Usually on weekends there are farmer's markets that sell organic foods and little trinkets. There are also performances all the time. It makes it all better because there are multiple train stations around so you can always just hop onto a train and go somewhere else.
The Place:
What I've Tried/ Shared with Friends:
The Melting Chocolate Truffle Heart Cake & Shake
Your choice of: raspberry red heart, white and milk chocolate heart or golden caramel heart. Served with vanilla bourbon ice cream, red berries & milk chocolate shot.
$13.25
(I picked milk chocolate.)
Banana Tempura Fondue
Fresh strawberries, pure milk chocolate dip, toffee sauce
$11.75
(I'm not a big fan of fried foods lately but yum).

The 100% Pure Chocolate Chocolate Experience Ice Cream “Max-Wich”
Decadent dark chocolate truffle ice cream & pure chocolate chunks hugged between old fashioned very rich chocolate cookies and drizzle with a boost of pure chocolate. Servide with pure dark chocolate ganache for dipping.
$10.95
(We just loved the name).
The Spectacular Melting Chocolate S’mores Sundae
Decadent dark chocolate gelato, pure vanilla ice cream, milk chocolate fondue, pure chocolate chunks, marshmallow fluff & whipped cream. Garnished with toasted marshmallow served with crispy crepe flakes & white chocolate cream.
$12.95
Disclaimer: The descriptions are from the Max Brenner menu. I take no part in the name or descriptions of the desert. The pictures however are mine.

It's best to go with a bunch a friends and you all order something different and you get to try a little bit of everything. Personally I love fondue, which is great to share, mostly because I don't like eating something really sugary but I find fondue is so normal so I like trying all the other stuff they have.
I know a lot of people find Max Brenner overrated but you should go once for the experience. After all who doesn't love chocolate?

I know I shouldn't play with my food but isn't that cute?
